Are the 73-87 Suburban and the single cab long bed the same size?
I was wanting a good 4 wheel drive camping truck.
I want the vehicle with the most room on the inside. So is a 1973-87 chevy single cab long bed with a camper on it the same amount of interior room as a gutted 1973-87 suburban? (I'm talking from the front seats to the rear doors/tailgate. Also where do you get the 'camper' cap for a single cab longbed? |

It's within 6-8". So really no difference.

The suburban seems to appear bigger but I've heard the frame on the single cab long bed is bigger...?
Just wanted to get the maximum amount of room I can. Still looking where to get a camper top for a long bed single cab 73-87 pickup... |

If you don't really care how it looks you can find caps that are taller than the truck cab, giving you more space. Or for that matter just put a camper on it...
You could also get a crew cab truck and put a cap on that...

i took the second row of seats out
left the third slept in the 6 foot back a average type full size bbq will slide in behind the driver seat the rear gate i was able to open a crack for air taped a strip of window screen to fill the crack and velcro strips held a flag over the window for privacy the pics here are after a storm went threw a fire ban was in effect before the rain met/partied/and fed by all the neighbours, using my bbq won't get a water leak between box and cap in a burb

keep a watch on Craigslist. I see caps posted there all the time. I don't think you can buy new ones for this genre of trucks anymore. I could be wrong tho, been wrong a couple times.

Yeah I was hoping I could find a cap for the long bed that looked kind of like the blazer cap but I dont know if they make them.
Anyone seen a modern cap for our longbeds? Thanks guys! |
