Low buck smoker build

Got this old propane tank from Craigslist for 100 bucks, got a 4x8 sheet of 3/8 AR plate off my neighbor for 75 bucks, got about 20 bucks worth of 1/8 flat strap, gonna mount it permanently to a 5x10 trailer i've had awhile.

Re: Low buck smoker build

Very nice what are your plans is it going to be reverse flow? I'm in the planning stages myself to build a smoker, mines going to be an insulated Cabinet type, no room for a trailer

Right now it's just going to be an offset conventional style, I had originally planned to build a reverse flow, I may later on add some angle iron in the bottom and put a long plate and add another smokestack, but for now i'm sticking with what I know.

I bought it off a dude on Craigslist, he had already cut into it, but i've been told to fill them with water then soak for awhile and cut into it then.

About 99% done now, sure am happy with it. Fired it up last night and man it's easy to get temps under control with this thing. Gotta fire it up a few more times before I cook on it to getit good and seasoned. Gonna paint the trailer black also and section off the other side for wood storage.

Very nice! We've had an old propane tank sitting here waiting to do the same thing for 5 years now, just need to get one of those "round tuits"
