I've heard that the newer reproductions are maybe better than the older ones. The older ones were pretty flimsy. I think they are just about all made my one or two companies though. Might not be much difference whereever you buy, but you might want to make sure what you get isn't an older repop that's lightweight.

I bought one a few months ago from Wes @ Classic Heartbeat. He is a vendor here on this site. Here is his website. Mine worked out great.

Wait, the repops are thin, real thin. If it's for looks, your going to be fine, but most of them can be bent with the palm of your hand....no good for a "working truck".

Mine is not thin at all. It is heavy gage steel and tough built.

would it support a couple guys sitting on it? yours also is not a standard style fleetside tailgate. but i have heard good things of mar-k

For a fleetside gate the Tri plus or Key parts brand is the same thickness and weight of an NOS gate (verified personally with an NOS gate) The only difference is the welding is cleaner on the gates than on an NOS....
