You have to pry it off the little plastic clips that hold it. I used a sharpened popcicle stick

I think that you are refering to the thin chrome which is a paint divider. The chrome snaps onto plastic clips and it can be difficult to remove. This is the way I take the chrome off. Spray a penetrant onto the chrome at the top to get some onto the clips.
On the outside, (by the doors), with your fingers, press down on the chrome at the top and pull at the bottom twisting upward. Usually it will pop off without using a screw driver, (I like to avoid using a screw driver as you can damage the chrome). With the outside released from the chrome you can slide the long part out toward you one side at a time. Do the same on both sides. Watch the connector because it may drop off and you don't want to lose it. Good luck! Jim |
