carb/fuel question
I have a '67 3/4 ton 4WD P/U CSTwith a 327 250hp, w/ a "squarejet" carb...I moved from high country in Colorado to Virginia...had to adjust the air/fuel mixture...seemed fine then started experiencing some hesitation and sputters out of the blue...
fuel pump was replaced last spring , and fuel filter is OK...rebuilt carb to some satisfaction, but sputters are still there sometimes as is cutoff...is it possible a rebuilt fuel pump would act this way before total failure??(12k miles) timing and all other issues seem OK...this is an original truck/engine combo w/ only 70K miles on it...so any thought would be appreciated...ted Last edited by silvertip67; 12-13-2010 at 12:15 PM. |

Re: carb/fuel question
thanks for the advice...after some deeper checking I found a plug wire rubbing on the exhaust manifold...it appears its caused the distributor cap to develope an arc mark...
it was the points afterall...thought I did a better job on those wires...thanks again...t |
