Sounds like pump to me, unless the belt is loose. By the way, I was born in and work in "Meriden" Connecticut.

Check belt tension to be certain it is not slipping at low speed.
Centrifical force may tighten it up at higher speeds.

Sounds like a muffler bearing going bad or a belt buckle pulley relay switch going out. LOL. For real though it sounds like your pump is going out. I just happen to know where to a replacement.

Besides you don't need power steering. You need to build up those fore arms so you can hit the golf ball 50 yards behind me instead of 100 yards behind me. Hee Hee.

teeitup you might want to look at the idler arm,tie rod bushings, ball joints,......i've got the same prob. it seems as if it's ok when you're rpms are up.which tells me it's not the pump to look at but the flid is being forced out harder through your pulley, and breaking past the kink that might be w/ any of those parts.personally i'm gonna buy a new idler arm....easier than a pump and cheaper!remember k.i.s.s......?(chill out) keep it simple stupid!!lol!

Put a new belt on it if it looks like it's bottoming out in the pulleys. It has to grab the sides of the pulley.

Its got a new belt on it too. I have a new power steering pump I'm going to try that. Nice pic Bo I'm not that big of man but I can still hit it 300 yards with the new equipment. Thanks Randy
