Hack job......MUST SEE

Found this on another forum. This guy paid $2500 to bag his FERD ranger, "parts and labor included" in price. Makes me feel like a pro fabricator compared to this. http://www.dropndrag.com/dnd/viewtop...st=0&sk=t&sd=a

Re: Hack job......MUST SEE

Some local kid wound up scrapping his S10 after a couple of his buddies got "done" bagging and bodydropping it.

He took it to another shop that charged him a couple hundred just to look at it, then told him he needed to buy another truck and start over.

Re: Hack job......MUST SEE

Wow, I wonder if they can do mine like that?

I saw a truck not quite that bad, but close on a car lot for sale over the summer. The guy asked if I wanted to test drive it, I told him I was scared enough standing next to it.

Wow....Just wow !!!

I read the whole thread, It was a 17/18 year old kid that got ripped. The thread starter (custom shop owner) who is going to straighten that mess out donated his time, The kid floated a $1500 loan (all he could get) and site members along with a vendor donated parts and or time to help the kid out and bag the truck PROPERLY.

Kudos to them !

It sucks that it was done by such a horrible company, but at least the guy posting in that thread has a shop, a GOOD shop, and did the right thing by helping him out and re-doing it.

OK, so Joe got screwed. If he does NOT sue in small claims, AND post up picts and info all over, then its going to happen to someone else. This is kinda like "the Emporers New Clothes". Everybody knows its wrong but nobody wants to name names. I am a shop owner, and this crap makes me look bad. We don't need this in our industry.

A fool and his money...

Even more hilarious that all this cash is being dumped into a Ranger.

Re: Hack job......MUST SEE

I don't know... seems to me like Joe decided to bag it himself and when he saw how much he screwed it up, he tried to blame it on some "other company". I just cannot imagine anybody maintaining a business with that kind of work ethic, or at least getting sued out of existence after the first job. That totally looks like a back yard "I can do it myself" novice job to me.

I was in the mini truck scene for several years and ive seen the same quality work come out of local shops. There are lots of fly-by-night suspension shops out there. It doesnt take skill to register a business name and rent a shop space.

Some kid bags his own truck and thinks he is a truck builder, time to open a shop. Six months later the doors are closed, a few guys get screwed, trucks are pretty much junk, and the kid is back to bagging groceries.

That sounds like a lot of "speculation" on your part. If you would read the post a bit you would find the name of the shop was disclosed.
Quote:
Well normally I won't bad mouth anybody because I'm not that kind of a person. But because it was requested and I agree that this kind of work is literaly robbing customers i will reveal the shop's name: S & S Customs out of New Oxford, PA.
I have seen this kind of crap first hand. I had a local kid come show me the bag job on his F-150. The work wasn't bad, but the gas tank hung extremely low and should have been reloacted. Despite my advice it was left hanging low until he drug a hole in it. Fortunately all it did was leave him stranded late at night. It could have been deadly, but luck was on the kids side.

For your viewing pleasure...

S & S Customs out of New Oxford, PA.

I feel so bad for that kid. But he needs to fight back. That is illegal. His truck is not safe, and they made it that way.

Re: Hack job......MUST SEE

I don't like to work on other peoples stuff as it is. But how you can put something like that together and send them down the road like that is criminal. I wouldn't be so offended if the kid did it with some buddies in the back yard. But the fact that he took it to a place that considers itself a business blows me away.
