Hey all. I normally hang in the 60-66 pickup sections since I am working on a rebuild of a '65 Chevy. Since I recently (as in 4 days ago) aquired a very nice little S-10 Blazer, I thought I would drop in here and say hello.

For the passed 5 years I have been driving a '03 Ford (yeah I know, but it was a GREAT truck) Ranger Edge 4x4. The day before Thanksgiving my wife hit a patch of black ice on the highway causing her to slide off the road and ultimately roll the truck over. Fortunately, both she and her little chi puppy she had with her, were free from any form of serious injury. But my truck was totaled. I had been searching for weeks for a suitable replacement, considering both full size and compact trucks, as well as SUVs. We stumbled across the ad for this little beauty on a last minute whim of a craigslist search as we were headed out the door for a day of test driving. This thing was so clean, and so reasonably priced, we didn't even bother driving anything else. She is a 2002 Blazer ZR-2, with the 4.3L V6 and automatic transmission with only 61K miles on the clock. I'm really happy with this truck, she runs and drives like brand new, and I have always loved the little 2-door Blazers.

I don't have much in the way of build plans for her. She already has 31x10.5R15 tires, and I'm happy with that. I might try to get the suspension to level out (I can not stand sagging rear ends), and find a set of nice 15x8 wheels to use for a summer set. I'd also like to do some work to help improve fuel economy, things like: intake, exhaust, computer chip, etc. As well as some external mods for more useful equipment up here in the high sierra mountians, like a push bar/ light mount with some Hella driving lights for our snow, fog, and rain we get. I'll probably also add at least a CB radio system, if not a complete HAM system as well.

Wow, nice ride!! Glad your wife and family pet are okay.

My 96 Jimmy is nearly level. To help with load and leveling, I installed helper springs.



I bought them from www.jcwhitney.com. They help load level up to 1500 lbs based on tension. I like them. You can also torque down the front bars too.

Thanks guys. 1 week in and lovin it. I'll check out those helper springs, but I may just turn down the torsion bars. I really don't need any lift.
