Let's see what type of bed covers are out there
I'm debating on whether or not to get a bed cover for my bed. Wanting to see some pics of what is out there. Soft cover, hardcover, hinged, snapped, rollup....let's see 'em. My truck is a 1972 swb fleetside factory dark blue and white.

I have your typical black vinyl tonneau cover. The rails clamp on and the cover snaps to the rails. It is weather tight and IMO dresses up the truck nicely. I think mine is by TonneauMasters. I bought it locally after trading in a cap that came with the truck when i bought it. Sorry i dont have a better pic of the cover. Good luck.

Re: Let's see what type of bed covers are out there
I have seen a few of the black tonneaus like that, but the ones I have seen have always been tight and nice in the winter, and sag in the summer and don't look as good. Does yours have that problem or does it seem to stay tight and snug all year round?

Re: Let's see what type of bed covers are out there
My father just got a cover for the bed of his 05 dmax, its made of aluminum and folds up like 4 or 5 times and will actually lay up against the back window and its pretty much completely weather tight, i wish i knew if they made one for our trucks.

Re: Let's see what type of bed covers are out there
Here is mine. It's called a US truck cover made in Rockhill SC. It's a knock off of the orignal ones made in Newton NC. Slim Line.
It's about $150.00 cheaper to. There are some here who don't like it, but it's my truck and it serves it purpose well for me.

Re: Let's see what type of bed covers are out there
Mine had this white cover on it when I bought it, I don't have any good pictures of it from the back but it has white lettering on the tailgate so it looks OK.

Re: Let's see what type of bed covers are out there
I have an Extang Revolution tonneau on mine ... it rolls up and the bows are self-contained with the tarp. The only way to go. And it doesn't sag here in the Phoenix summer. Sorry but this is the best picture I have.

Mine is a Pace Edwards electric retractable, all aluminum so it keeps everything safe and dry.

Re: Let's see what type of bed covers are out there
These are really really great guys. I looked into this a few years back and there weren't too many options. It looks like the aftermarket has finally got the hint that there is a huge market for these years trucks.
I think so far I am leaning towards the extang cover for my truck. I really like the gaylords and the pace edwards, but I can't afford them at the moment :/ Hey Barry how far does that cover come onto the side rail? Does it cover the stake pockets? Pretty good as far as water tight? |

Actually it extends onto the side rails about a half inch beyond the tail gate on each side. And I can't speak too much about how water tight it is, as it only sees water when I wash the truck ... we don't get much rain here, and when it does rain, I'm not driving in it. Barry

Re: Let's see what type of bed covers are out there
Andy I think that your cover is nice. It looks just as good as any slimline I've seen. I'm just not very big on that style for my truck, but it does look nice. I've always thought it would be cool to take a spare bed and make a trailer to tow to car shows or road trips and to have a slimline on it.

Re: Let's see what type of bed covers are out there
Lol ok thanks. Was considering getting rid of my stake pockets when I paint my bed again....And I hear ya on not driving in the rain. I am finishing a year and a half rebuild after I smacked a ditch in the rain in mine :/ so no more slick pavement for me.

Anyone used the hinged unit from LMC? Or anyone know what brand that cover is?

Your truck would look sweet with one of these...
