all origional
how can I tell using vin or decal in glove box if the vehicle has the origional engine, trans or rear end? the 1969 gmc I had built did not have a decal in the glove box so i just built it up how ever but I want to build another but want to take my time and build it back to origional condition! also is there a source to go to to get the origional build info for a truck? thanks

Re: all origional
There was a thread on this a short while back, check back thru the list a ways. I think the vin matches the engine # plate on the front of the block or head, right in front of the valve cover on the passenger side. Check the under side of the seat for a build sheet up in the springs. Its even more detailed than the SPID, but if its not the original seat, it wont help.

Re: all origional
The only way to tell if the engine is original to the truck is the build sheet (usually found tucked in the seat springs underneath or in back). There is no other way to verify it.

Re: all origional
do you mean original size engine and original gear ratio and type of trans... or do you mean original as in the exact parts that it had day one?
