tank relocate. where to put new filler tube?
I've been reading a lot about the gas tank relocation some guys have been doing, and it sounds like a really good idea. I just have one question for those people that have done it........where did you put the new filler hose?? That is the only thing that is making me wherry about moving the tank. any info or even pics would be great!

flip down tailight
72Mario,
Would you be interested in making a flip tail light for me? I am in the process of doing my truck, and I have someone to make me a tank, and want to incorporate the flip tail light. It would save me some time, and if you have done a few of them, maybe you can do it at a reasonable price without the trial and error that I would go through. Letr me know; and how much you would charge. Keith |

I will be doing a 2 of them in the next month or so. I will see what I can do. I dont have a clue how much it would cost lets see how long it will take to build them. I am not sure how you want to fasten the hing to your box side. Some cutting of the cross sills is also needed. Later Mario

A "Cool Cap", flush with the floor, behind the wheel tub is probably the easiest...and anyone can do it themselves. The flip open TL & marker light are some of the nicest, IF you don't mind the cutting and welding.

I want to do the flip open marker or tail light, but when I talked with NO LIMIT about the tank, he was worried about the filler hose going into the tank; creating an angle that would hinder the flow of gas into the tank.
I have printed the DYI information from here and Wes' page. Hopefully I can combine all this info into a relatively easy mod, especially if I can get 72Mario to hook me up with the flip door. I have someone to make the tank for me, but I need to find the necessary connections, filler tube, vent connection, and connection for the supply line. Anyone have any access to these types of things, or know of a supplier? |
