Custom Cab Gas Tank Cover; Fiberglass Wall w/ Mahogany Veneer

has anyone ever tried to make a custom fiberglass wall to cover the gas tank in the cab? I am considering doing this, i have never done fiberglass but am sure i could learn easily, ive already conquered metal body filler =)

so my idea is to do a custom wall (and ultimately cover with veneer), and build in an 8" subwoofer box into this wall in the area between the gas tank end and the passenger cab wall.

has anyone done this before? without the subwoofer even. maybe someone can suggest some good materials for me? can i use a piece of wood to cover the majority of the flat and laminate it with fiberglass resin & cloth? Im some somewhat concerned about durability.

any help appreciated! i know you guys love my ideas so ill just keep them coming.
