Dont quote me, but I believe it has something to do with faulty or weak motor mounts from the factory for specific years or models. And this keeps the motor from going to far. A sort of factory recall part if you will. But again, don't mark my works.

yes..its no fun when your motor hits the hood..and the fan takes out the shroud and radiator...

I have had a few trucks with this kit installed on them.. common on the 65-70 impala's also...

I think i still have a kit just list this also...I will have to dig and see..it been 20 years since i had my hands on it last.
