Project X, with a twist!!!
A customer called and wanted an ultra low truck with all the bells and whistles. He wanted to fit up to a 30 inch tall tire and lay out. Then he tells me he wants to use Scotts suspension from Scotts Hotrods out in Oxnard. I quickly said yes and looked forward to seeing what the boys over there were up to. I'd had some experience with Scotts stuff from working on hotrods and was very impressed but hadn't got the chance to play with the C10 stuff they've been working on. So here it goes.
Fully tig welded with cross supports that go right through the cross member. |

I agree - until I got my own welder, I used to think "what could be so hard..." That's a beautiful piece of gear ya got there. Can't wait to see the build on this one.

Re: Project X, with a twist!!!
Thanks man.
Here is the rear crossmember, looks like it fits up to 3 inch exhaust. It's set up for either the stock style support bearing or one of those fancy billet ones. Bolted right in, no problems. Last edited by Delmo; 01-20-2011 at 01:22 PM. |

Re: Project X, with a twist!!!
Some shots of the control arms and spidles bolted up. As you can see there is no notching required for the rack.
I'll get some pics with the suspension compressed and you can see how good the tie rods stay inline with lower arms. |
