Transporting a '67-72 bed on an '83 bed

Howdy! I'm stuck and hoping some of you have relevant experience.... I want to move a '68 bed with my daily driver; an '83 K20. Both are 8' beds. I plan to put the '68 bed upsidedown on top of my daily driver's, run wood 'indexing pins' in each stake pocket and strap it down. I'd simply get all the measurements but the '68 bed is currently an hour away. Anyone done this combination before? Are the beds the same width? Will the stake pockets line up at all? Kindest Regards...

Ive seen the beds being flipped like that but not sure if the stake pockets will line up. have the guy measure it, whats the measurement of your bed? That way somebody on here could measure there bed and see if they would work.
Welome to the board!!!

You should use a 2X4 laid along the bed sides to spread the load a little. If they're not the same width use some crossways to support the bed, then strap it well.

Thanks for the information Guys!! I moved the bed today. The four corner stake pockets lined up well enough to use 1"x1"x10" stakes. Four strong people did the trick to safely stack the beds. Cross straps to the frame in front and the bumper in rear kept things nice and tight for the hour drive home. Thanks again! Now back to my project: 1970 C20 'Forest Fresh'.
