High hump interesting pic - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Last night I was thinking about marking a hole in my 4 speed 2wd high hump for my transfer case shifter. Most of you probably know my truck was a big block 2wd, so there was no 4wd hole. I started looking and the hole locations are stamped into my high hump already. Has anyone else noticed that? I thought it was interesting and this the first one I've seen like this out of the 8 or so I've had over the years.

I think most of the later one's were all spot punched for the different motor/trans & 2-4wd configurations that were available. I recently used some super clean and a pressure washer on these five tunnel covers and they all had the dimples, all were removed from 71 & 72 big block 402/Th400 trucks. Mel

I'm guessing it must have been a 71 72 deal. I don't remember any of the pre 71 ones I've had having them. But I really never paid any attention to look for them either. Thanks for the pic. Ryan.
