Is this a good deal?
This truck is for sale in my area? It is sound and straight as I've seen for not to be r4estored. It has absolutley no rust. Not the original motor though. If this was a short bed it would be expensive around here. I just didn't know how much these models were. Any body sold or bought one latley? It's a 1970 gmc custom camper. Has a sign on the window for $2500 obo

If you haven't, you need to slide underneath and check out the cab supports. A piece of cardboard and a good flashlight will work. If no major problems with them, cab corners underneath, under the battery tray, or the bottoms of the doors I would say it would be worth that. How does the bed look inside and the tailgate? LockDoc

Re: Is this a good deal?
Just to let you know I bought my truck from Tenn. 2 years ago for $2500 The pic in my avatar is the day I trailered it home. It is s 72 (disc brakes) LWB with a factory original 402 BB with AC. The cab and front clip was completely done (new rockers , corners, etc.) Fresh paint orange and white. Downside was that the bed was shot, and it was in pieces. It would drive, but inside of cab had to be put together along with the hood. So hope that is some frame of reference for you.

Re: Is this a good deal?
I agree with what LockDoc has said also lift up the carpet if possible and check out for moisture and any rust there also.

Re: Is this a good deal?
If it is solid underneath, it looks like a good deal. It has factory air (looks like it is all there) and a tach dash. Some minor negatives would be the radio hole chopped and some non stock parts like the steering wheel and air cleaner, but if it is as good as it looks, and it runs and drives well, I don't think someone could go wrong at that money.

Re: Is this a good deal?
OK! $2500 less the cost of a metal fuel line!

Re: Is this a good deal?
Seems like a fair price for what you described and that I can see. Bargain with cash in hand... Best of Luck, Roger

Re: Is this a good deal?
with the small amount of info given and the poor photos, it's hard to tell what it could be worth. A lot also depends on local market. Here in my area the few that come up for sale demand way more than they are worth.

Re: Is this a good deal?
2500 no apparent rust and if it drives out fine, no major engine trans issue the brakes are good and the frontend is alright, well you're going to give that kind of money for just about anything that will get you from point a to b. I'd buy it knowing you're getting a 40+ year old vehicle. Your going to have issues but it looks like its worth it .

I'd try and talk him or her down to 2000 or even 1800 if possible.

Re: Is this a good deal?
Myself personally, i think $2500 is high but not crazy high. It wont be a fair/fair deal. It will be, he got the better end but you didnt get screwed deal.
