Original 1970 hubcaps falling off problem

Sometimes when I go down the road or turn a corner or hit a bump some of my hubcaps fall off. Can anybody tell me how to fix that problem?

the hub caps could be warped or bent or the rim is messed up where the hub cap pushes on

Hub cap or wheel cover? If it's a wheel cover the "catches" probably need to be tweaked outward a bit. I've never seen hub caps not want to stay on. I guess if one was stretched out somehow or the roll in the edge is flattened. What kind of shape are these in?

Re: Original 1970 hubcaps falling off problem

I have the same problem with my 70's right front wheelcover - someone on here is putting duct tape or electrical tape where the "grabbing" tabs come in contact with the wheel and that seems to help. I'm going to try that method when mine gets back on the road.

I wonder if I can put those sandpaper strips on the hubcaps where it scraps or catches. Maybe that would work.
