LMC Universal Chrome Door Mirrors
Does anybody have the LMC Chrome Door Mirrors on their truck? Would like to see what they look like on a truck before buying. I figured at $9.95 each there is nothing to lose and could switch out the ugly mirrors I have on right now. So anybody with the LMC universal door mirrors please post some pics up! thanks!

I do not like the big mirrors on my 70, they were switched at some time by PO. |

Re: LMC Universal Chrome Door Mirrors
They look like a lot of mirrors I've seen on '70's cars.
IMHO, the only problem you might run into is placing them where they won't hinder your wing windows. |

Re: LMC Universal Chrome Door Mirrors
The mirrors I got on it right now also have a problem with the side vent window. I just want some smaller sport mirror style mirrors. Was thinking these universal ones might work. Any pics?????? AnyBody??????

Re: LMC Universal Chrome Door Mirrors
Those $9.95 are not chromed metal. The base/stand of the mirror is chromed plastic, the back of the mirror is polished metal. I had a set and the backs of the mirrors rusted within a year and I ran into the passenger mirror and broke the plastic stand. You might want to call lmc and make sure of the construction of the mirror. Since the mirrors are the same for both sides, the passenger side is worthless since it does not use the "objects are farther than they appear" type of mirror.

Re: LMC Universal Chrome Door Mirrors
I have the round chrome ones, they look and work great. I highly recommend them. Look at my profile for a picture.

Re: LMC Universal Chrome Door Mirrors
I bought some of the original version 72 mirrors from LMC, the right side was hardly usable, I couldnt see anything because the vent blocked it. I ended up cutting right behind the ball joint on the mirror head, welding a bolt to the little ball and threading the a hole where the ball used to be attached. I covered the bolt with a coupler nut, a one inch long nut that fit over the bolt and screwed the new bolt into the mount. This moved the mirror head back one inch and now I can see out the right mirror perfectly. The mod doesnt look bad either.

Re: LMC Universal Chrome Door Mirrors
I've got em on my truck and they stink.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=443072 You can't see anything out of either side very well, especially the passenger side...it doesn't turn in far enough. I am actually right now looking to get the tripods from LMC, but I am a little worried about the quality.

Re: LMC Universal Chrome Door Mirrors
my 72 had them stock. do not interfere with the vent windows at all. had one of the originals rattle loose and fall off a few months ago and replaced it with one of these from lmc. they're perfect.
** i just realized you were talking about the universal mirrors. I bought two of the repro mirrors at the top of the page... that's the way to go. Last edited by Keller; 02-28-2011 at 03:19 AM. Reason: whoops |

Re: LMC Universal Chrome Door Mirrors
I did the repro. mirrors from the 72 style. When mounting, the passenger side mounts farther back than the driver's by about an inch (there was a template on the website somewhere).
I bought them off ebay. The pass. side didn't have enough adjustment, so I ended up making a wedge that is 1" thick at the front, tapering to zero at the rear. Doesn't look as good as stock, but works now. I like them overall (the truck originally had only one mirror and it was big and heavy enough to tow a house with).

I know this is old but don't get the LMC mirrors. I just broke off my drivers side one tonight by just bumping into it while walking by it. Junk plastic pos.
