6 lug rotors....
I know this subject has been beat to death, but I got a question. I plan on finding a donor disc brake saddle off of a 1973-1982 chevy 1/2 ton and want to stay with the 6 lug.
Does anyone know of anyone here on the board that sells 6 lug bolt on rotors for this swap, or a machine shop that will make them for me?? Thanks!!!

If you want to stay with six lug, what's the point of changing the front crossmember? If you change the front crossmember, then you will have to change ball joints and steering linkages to go back to 6 lug. We carry everything to convert your exsisting front crossmemer to six lug disk using your exsisting ball joints, steering linkages and etc. Also they are available in standard heights or 2 1/2" drop at no additional cost. I thought they had 6 lug rotors for the 73 & up suspention too?

The 6 lug rotors we carry work on all 71-72 Trucks with 1/2 ton spindles, 73-87 truck with 1/2 ton spindles and 1 1/4" thick rotors, and 73-91 Suburban, Blazer, Jimmy 2wd 1/2 ton spindles with 1 1/4" thick front rotors.

I have a 70 CST10. I recently changed to a power disc brake system from Performance Suspension. This was before I joined this board. The rotors fit over my existing hubs. The first set of rotors had way to much runout. The best I could do was .018. I had to go through Stainless Steel Brakes for replacements. I had to send them my original rotors and they sent replacements. The replacements were ok. One side was .001 and the other was .003. The brakes work fine now after getting the proportioning valve adjusted. The setup was pricey a little over 1000.00. I think that this can be beat. I did not have to change any of the suspension parts though. The booster went on ok. EdB |

GMC Paul's kits are much cheaper than that,
you can buy just the rotors that will work with the 73-87 spindle for 1.25" thick rotors, finishing up mine now, easy conversion, and easy on the pocket book also tommie |

GMC Paul has a kit that comes with (2) 6 lug rotors, inner and outer wheel bearings, spindle nuts, washers, dust caps, calpiers, brake pads, and brake hoses I think it was $219 check GMC Paul's website though, i don't want to tell you the wrong price.
with this kit, you can mount the rotors on 73-87 1.25" spindles. either use the front suspension from a donor truck, or just use the spindles on your truck with 73-87 ball joints. it is one of many choices you have to convert to disc. feel free to email me if you want to know any more or have any other questions. tommie |

i haven't driven it yet, still putting the truck back together, just set the engine and trans in today (350 shortblock balanced with vortec heads and 700r4) had to get rid of the staight 6 and 3 sp standard.
i don't see why i wouldn't like them, they are basically the same set up as a 73-87. has to be better than the drums that were on the front. tommie |
