Drivers Inside Door Handle Assistance Needed

I am in the midst of installing mirrors on the doors of my 72 and cant seem to get the driver's inside door handle off - I have the tool and it worked for the other three handles in the truck, this one is being stubborn. Any thoughts on what I can do, I am considering drilling through the center of the handle, therefore splitting the handle - any other ideas?

Take a shop rag and "floss" it under the handle, then pull it back and forth like you are shining your shoes. The rag will catch the clip and pull it off with this method. It's faster than the tool for me.

ignore the red circles I took the picture from the forums FAQ...anyways look at the green arrow I added, you come at the handle this direction using the clip removal tool going under the handle, it'll push the clip out of its grooves and then you can pull the handle off

nevermind...the rag method...that way actually sounds tons better and faster lol
