Need to know max rear tire size specs.

Hey guys, im looking at buying a set of cheater slicks/racing street radials and id like to know the absolute biggest, widest tire and wheel combo i can run on the rear of my truck with a stock 8.5" 10 bolt rear end. I dont want to chop up the OEM wheel tubs just yet until im ready to do a full back half/tub

im running 315/35/17 with stock tub. thats about as wide as will go. 1/4inch of clearance from tire to wheel tub.

I have 28x12x18 M/T on mine, and if I had a 10" or 12" wheel and I could find the correct tire size I could prob get a couple more inches on there with stock tubs. you may be able to get a 18" wide tire on with the correct wheel size and offset and tubbed.

is his truck lowerd ? mine is. and 12-13 inch wide tire is about the limit on width in the wheel tubs

so......would i be ok running a 15x10 wheel with a P315/60R15 (30'' x 13.5'' - 15'')

Yep those 315/60/15 's will fit , I have them on my truck , the wheels should be 5" backspace , pics in my build

ok, any chance those will fit on a 15x12 wheel, thats the smallest size wheel in the style i want thats made in a 5x5 bolt pattern

a 315 will fit on a 12 wheel no problem but it will give you a bigger section width, about 14 inches if i recall. my brother has 325/50/15s on a ten inch wheel on his fleet and its tight but no rub.

Here is the exact size you asked about on a 12 inch wheel . This one has 7.5" of backspace.

not sure if it means anything to you but I could run 32x11.50x15s on the rear of my 82 with stock wheels and no rubbing issues. I think 33s could fit find as well.

ok now...before i get all hot n bothered about these 15x12s with the tire size i posted......i need to know if any fender cutting/rolling was done or if it was a simple bolt on and drive away with fenders being left 100% OEM/stock.

Also, if i could, id like to see some pics of the closeness of tire to fender lip on top side in front as well as tire closeness to inner fender well if possible please.

Id also like to see some additional angles of pics with the whole set up, like from behind the truck and stuff like that to see how wide they are etc.

If you get it to hook you may find the limits of a 10bolt axle.
And i've got a 325/50 15 hooiser D/R on a 10" wheel. 4.74b.s

not overly concerned bout the axle as i dont have an overly healthy sbc in it now. Only a 15 sec truck

I have a 10 inch rim with 5 inch backspacing and 345/55/15 tires and I had to widen the tubs.My tires just and i mean just sit inside the wheelwells so i think what you want is your 315/60/15 on a 10 inch rim with 5 inch backspacing. You will have to tub with a 12 inch rim with 7.5 backspacing and if you get 12 with a 5 inch backspacing that will put your tire too far out I think

yeah i found out id need to tub it some with a 12" wheel so i think im gonna go with a 10" wheel out back with the tire size i posted earlier. only thing that sucks is it wont look as mean as with a 12" wheel and itll only be 2" wider than whats on it now

If this helps ,Im maxed out at with 275x50 tires & 17x9.5 rims with 4 in. bs .

Iwould guess a 10 in rim with the size of tire you are talking about would limit you to a 5.5 bs max. with stock tubs. good luck
