Ebay truck question

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...fCarsQ5fTrucks

I was looking at the VIN and was wondering, did this cab used to be a 2wd 3/4t? Very nice truck though!

Yes.

C =2 wd
E =V8
2 =3/4 ton
4 =Pick up
8 =1968
Z =Freemont plant
103712 =3,712th built

And, yes nice conversion

Re: Ebay truck question

Thanks for clarifying ETsC10, not a true K10 but I would love to have it

Re: Ebay truck question

I guess it could be a true SWB K/10 with a cab swap as part of the restoration. Many questions would need answered and,for me,an on site inspection. It sure is a sweet looking truck. I would hope it's as nice as it looks.If not,that would be all the more disappointing. It sure "looks" done right from here.

Re: Ebay truck question

If the cab was swapped, wouldn't it retain the VIN for the chassis?

I swapped my cab and registered it by the new cab vin so my vin also says its a c10 but it looks like a K20 short bed which they never made.

Re: Ebay truck question

Like Haysonj said...the VIN is always determined by the cab/body, not the chassis. You could have a corvette chassis under the truck but if you registered it as a corvette you might get some questions asked lol Could be a cab swap or an entirely pieced together truck. Who knows....but it is a nice truck either way.
