Any of you guys have pictures of your tailights?

I haven't decided what tailights I want to use yet. I like the looks of the factory tailights with the LED lights. But was just wondering what may look better or different.

Look at 1955 Eddie ('s) build. Nice set up but not stock at all.

I too went the stock route but with an LED upgrade. I also made some custom tubes to hide the wires...

Stock lights with slightly modified brackets.

I think eventually I will do something creative with the roll pan and led's.

Yup, my '55.2 will have polished stainless stock tail lights and I'll also be installing these VERY nice tubes for the wiring.

Re: Any of you guys have pictures of your tailights?

The stock round taillights for that year look great and are hard to beat especially if they are chromed or polished ss.

Some of the bullet shaped tail light housings like 39 Chevy car would look good mounted close to being in the stock truck location too. Smooth, clean and custom but not in your face.

I like the 48 Chevy car tail lights for a roll pan or maybe the early 50's round Pontiac lights.

The main thing is to think it out, hunt down photos of similar lights to what you are thinking about on similar trucks and don't get caught up in putting something on with the only reason being it was cheap or free. We saw enough of that in the 70's and 80's when half the stepsides around be they Chevy or Ford had 65/66 Mustang tail lights scabbed on the backs of the fenders.

Re: Any of you guys have pictures of your tailights?

True about the stock tailights looking good and agreed on the just because it is free idea. Problem is I know what I want they just need to be custom or I don't know where to look. If any of you know what the G35 Coupe tailights look like. They have a round circle of LED lights on the inside part of the tailight. And that is what i want but have no clue where to get them. I will see if i can find a picture.

Re: Any of you guys have pictures of your tailights?

That outside circle is all I want and I want to put it in a housing like the truck has originally. It may have to be a bit bigger then the stock housing but it is close.

Re: Any of you guys have pictures of your tailights?

Does anybody have any custom Fleetside taillight ideas or pictures?
I've got the idea to spice up the taillights but don't have an idea what other lenses would fit in the stock trim rings. Something more than blue dots, cone? tapered? Show'em off!

Re: Any of you guys have pictures of your tailights?

Old thread but the only thing I have seen in fleetsides is those tall thin Caddy tail lights.

Caddy bullets would stick out too far and don't always look just right but the guy who bought my 51 Merc took out the frenched Caddy bullets and put in 56 Chevy car bullet lenses. You can see the Caddy bullets stiicking out in this photo and the Chev lenses stuck out maybe a half inch at most.

If you could french in the 56 Chevy car lenses so just about 1/2 inch stuck out it might be pretty nifty. There are better prices but this is one of the best photos. http://www.classicchevy.com/chevy-ta...-red-1956.html

A guy would still have to fab the hole for it and put a socket in it for the bulb. That shouldn't be hard though.

Re: Any of you guys have pictures of your tailights?

MR48 gave me the cue via saying "frenched".

When my panel was built in the mid eighties, a '75 C20 was the donor. Add to that the owner seemed to have a "let's french it" fixation and we get him using the stock C20 taillights, for the license plate and light and the radio antenna.
