rockwell t-case info please.
I was wondering if this t-case is chain drive or gear drive?
Model # T 221 N1 Ratio 1.94 serial # 1266-1498 I was also wondering if the rockwell is better than the np205? Thanks in advance, Landon

Gear drive. And I would put it up against a 205 any day. You just can't find parts as easy.

My buddy just bought one at the 4x4 swap meet for $50. He has been looking (some what passively) for one for about a year. He felt very lucky to find one for $50. His truck has a divorced unit and the unit he picked up is a married unit. He's hoping to frankenstein them together to make one good divorced unit.

I think the Rockwell t-case is better, but thats because I have one. The shift pattern feels like natural progression. A point could be made that the 205 has a lower low range, but how often does 0.02% make a difference?
Also, Rockwell is an oddball. This is good/bad. It seems like everyone and their bro is running a 205 these days, so a Rockwell is a little different.

Plus the Rickwell has a lower rear output so that's good when your lifting your truck driveshaft angle wise.
