any pics of drop members with factory spindles?
Curious if anyone around here has done a 67-72 dropmember but kept the factory spindles?

Re: any pics of drop members with factory spindles?
You can get some lowering by cutting off the front coils, but you give up suspension travel. The reason everyone goes to drop spindles is you can still maintain the suspension travel while dropping 2-2.5" In order to go lower than that you have to add new control arms which are designed with the proper geometry to allow air bags up front and even more drop. This may even require changes in the type of steering to get the drop even more extreme. Kieth Spend a little time searching here you can find out a lot of info, but if you are mechanicly challenged you might want to go to the pros to accomplish your design.

The arms are cupped from when I had them on my old Zed and chopped suspension. I have another set of stock arms that will replace these. They are 73-87 arms.

Are your bags rubbing the LCA?

Yes, the DM moves the bags out further than the springs would normally sit. That's why I am replacing the arms.

Hey Funkytechmonkey,
Is your plan to run with or without inner fenders? Another option is stock front cross member with porterbuilt A-arms and drop spindles. I believe there is a pic of Accuair install set up like this.

I plan on running 20" front and rear. My front suspension is going to be the porterbuilt dropmember, and porterbuilt upper and lower control arms. The biggest concern of mine is how level the truck will be aired out.

Re: any pics of drop members with factory spindles?
Mike, how far from the ground does it sit? Do you have a pic of that?
Im not looking to go lower. The reason I'm asking is... I am only doing a mild notch on the back and I have no desire to "lay frame" so I want a good stance in the front to match the back. I am installing The porterbuilt drop member with bags and I don't want it to sit too low. So I was thinking about using the stock spindles instead of the drop spindles. Anyone else running a similar setup? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: any pics of drop members with factory spindles?
After talking to Nate, I will be using the stock 73+ arms and spindles. Should be about an inch off the ground with a 28" tire.

Re: any pics of drop members with factory spindles?
i actually set mine up with drop spindles but had to go back to stock spindles because i was not getting enough lift with the tire size. it is all relative to the height of the tire. i am running a 255 50 17 and it was way low in the front with a dropped spindle. i installed the stockers and it is now perfect. it just barely kisses the ground right now with no motor. when the motor gets installed it should push it just to the pavement. when you get into the 20" plus size wheels when the drop spindles come into play.

Re: any pics of drop members with factory spindles?
dont know if this helps. this is with factory 73-87 arms, stock spindles, and porterbuilt dropmember. i am also using a bag plate instead of a cup that i got from porterbuilt.
