lowering a 61 chevy c-10
Does anybody know what I would need to do to lower the front of my 61 c-10? It doesn't have the coil spring front end, I would like about 3 up front and 5 in the rear if possible. I do not want to change front spindel's cause everything up front is in good shape and to be honest my funds a low. thanks

Re: lowering a 61 chevy c-10
You can get 3" easily by loosening the rear adjustment bolts on the torsion bars.
I got 3-4" drop on my old 60 by doing this. **Now..It was on the bumpstops, so I removed them. It also leaves the bolts hanging pretty low. I dealt with it, but others dont want to. heres pics...

Re: lowering a 61 chevy c-10
The red 60 had a used pair of jeep TJ rear springs bolted in back. I paid 40 bucks at the canfield swapmeet.
Do a search here on jeep springs. Theres alot of info. Early 90s jeep wrangler tj rear coil springs are a direct bolt-in and lower around 4"

Re: lowering a 61 chevy c-10
only downfall to jeep springs is if you haul anything the truck will bottom out easily, you can make your own relocators let me know if your interested
