detent cable connection in trany?

How does the cable rod hook to valve inside the pan? The rod came out with the cable when I was changing it. I pulled the pan, but I am not finding an eye or hole for the rod to go into.
Does anyone have an ilistration of how the rod hooks up? My manuals dont cover it.
Thanks,
Mario

I found it. Bill, you are right. It is a big pain in the but. The tab with the hole for the detent rod was broken off. After I had it jimi riged ( the wrong way) and the pan and x-member installed, I found the broken tab in the bottom of my oil pail.
Needless to say, I need to find one and tear it all apart again.
Does anyone have a core laying around that they can rob one off of?
Thanks,
Mario
