I think you would have to cut the frame horns off, not something I would do but it is your truck, rite?

Subscribed....

I initially wanted to do a front roll pan too. But after scouring the net all the examples I found were not to my liking.

Like you said, smooth bumpers look really good.

But I could be convinced that I have flawed thinking if I was provided a photo of a truck with a front roll pan that looked "better" than one with a tucked and smoothed bumper.

i've thought about taking a smooth rear roll pan no box and turn it upside down and see how that looks!! any advice or input would be great!! i'm starting to think i should smooth out the bolt hole on my front bumper and go with that! Already got the bumper and would have to buy a smooth roll pan

These trucks look really great. Has anyone ever thought about mixing a grill with driving lights from 68 Camaro .

Maybe use this one as a starting point and add in this grill with lights. Way beyond my meager metal working or photoshop skills.

I thought about it... I have a '69 Camaro and did some measuring. The stock Camaro grill is way to narrow. Thus you would need to replicate the '67 Camaro Grille in a larger scale. It could be done, but would be quite the challenge.

Re: anyone know how to do a front roll pan on the 60-66????

I am glad to see this thread. I plan to go pick up a 61 Burb next week but it has a home built front bumper on it. I was thinking that I might build in a roll pan. But after looking at those examples. I think I will go with a bumper. There are a few of those trucks that look good but I think they need the bumper to look "right". That is my 2 cents.

kind of gives our trucks a bug eyed look, the dually has the best transition but still looks like a bull shark IMHO

I agree, but if you took the Camaro look a step further and put a widened 'maro front bumper over the roll pan it'd give the truck it's "chin" back.

Smile Re: anyone know how to do a front roll pan on the 60-66????

only thing bad about a roll pan's is you got no protection from the front or the back

To bad my friend with a 1957 cameo had to learn it the hard way.He was on the free way going to a car show some kid slammed into him at 40 mph.He was right behind a 1970 cuda.

Well let just say he was pushed in to the Cuda and took out the whole front end and the back end was junk and the frame was bent 35,000 truck totaled.

Even tho he had classic car ins he was sited for following too close ins company only payed 1/2 the claim it did $17,000 damage to the cuda.

The kid just had liability ins the adjuster told my friend bob if he would of had bumpers on his truck the damage would not be as bad

Bob told him to go fock him self

i think after that statement i will be going with a front bumper!! Another reason is i already have the front bumper just got to finish cleaning it and painting it!

Re: anyone know how to do a front roll pan on the 60-66????

Here is an alternative... from over at the C10 Forum... http://c10forum.com/forum/newreply.p...wreply&p=76062

It gives the front roll pan look yet still provides the protection of a bumper. But somehow it seems to have a bit to much "Ford" look, IMO.

Get ready to bolt and unbolt the bumper about 20 times. I still might have to tweek mine a little more. Oh yeah, I trimmed the sides to match the fender opening.
