What do you think of this engine?
What do you guys think of this engine?: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MLL-BP3830CT1/
It is a crate 383 stroker with 400+ HP advertised. Would you think this is a good price for this engine? I was going to build a 383 stroker but decided to check out some crate engines as they are professionally built, and I am not a professional. I want the engine I put in my truck to have a choppy idle and I'm not sure if this one will as the cam specs are not really listed. I was thinking of putting a holley 750 double pumper on this engine if I get this engine. What would be the advantages of building my own 383 stroker? Would this be cheaper or would buying a crate engine be cheaper?

Re: What do you think of this engine?
I tried to find some on youtube, but couldn't find any . If anyone knows a link to one that would be great!
Also, does anyone know if these engines can come with a roller cam instead of a flat-tappet?

Hopefully this is what you were looking for. Not quite a square, but it gets the job done.

Re: What do you think of this engine?
Summit has decent prices. Building it yourself would probably be cheaper, but then it is a lot of labor, requires a decent amount of tools, and doesn't come with a warranty... If you've never built an engine it is a lot of fun and very rewarding, but it is a learning process as well.
