shipping front fender?
OK, all you guys that ship stuff all the time, please help. What is the best way to go about shipping a front fender from TX to SC? And is it worth it?
Can it get there without getting smashed, or dented. Any help or advice is welcome. Thanks, Matthew

Packaging is the biggest way to prevent damage.
And greyhound is the best way to ship larger items like this. Just got two fenders shipped to me from AZ to VA for $77.95 for both in the same box.

Re: shipping front fender?
I just had a fender shipped from Chicago to Seattle. Fed-Ex Home delivery got it here for $79.00. It's always a gamble shipping this type of item. No packaging will keep it from getting messed up unless its crated, but expect to pay a bunch more if so.

Re: shipping front fender?
DHL is a good company for big packages.. sent a TAILGATE thru them.. built a 2x4 box around it (2x4's w/ 1/4" plywood top/bottom) think it was around a $100 back in 07..

Re: shipping front fender?
We ship worldwide. Shipping by GPX (greyhound) is in fact less than most and delivery is fast most time. They can get a part 1/2 way across the country in 1 day.The problem is for most is that it can be a hassle finding a close drop off and delivery location. Sometimes customers would have to drive and hour or more to pick up the part. Its a hassle for a business. They do offer pick up and local delivery but with that added on its not any less than using the larger shippers. Packing is the same for any shipper. They ALL damage stuff at times.
If you ship a lot GPX will give you a good price break. we can ship a hood for $37.00 total but you have use them and have a good relationship with their Rep. shipping will go up even more now gas is up. Just remember also their is no such thing as free shipping. Companies advertise it all the time and customers fall for it. Free they just add it on. Last edited by mbgmike; 04-15-2011 at 12:00 PM. |
