Power drum brakes???

I have a 67 C10 4x4 stepside. It has manual drum brakes. I'd like to upgrade to discs but don't have the cash right now. Can I run a power booster to the drums for a little help stopping? This thing doesn't like to slow down!

Re: Power drum brakes???

best $$ you can spend on your truck...trust me !! it takes about an hour and a used one from the board will run you about $60 with the brackets and all ........it up graded my old drums so much that now I'm in no rush to do my disc/drop swap

I upgraded my White '67 and I didn't even have to unhook the brake lines... Nice improvement.

Ditto. Best upgrade I have made. Make sure when you get it that it has all of the brackets and linkages - makes it a simple hour swap, as LockDoc said.

Just go easy bending the steel lines to the MC and it will be easy.

TIP - unbolt the MC before trying to remove the linkage bolt from the brake pedal - it will drop it down so it will clear the steering column, otherwise, you will have to drop the column.

Just scroll down to the bottom of this page and you will see the "Forum Jump" box. Click on the down arrow on the right side and scroll down to "The 1967-1972 Chevrolet & GMC Pickups Parts Board" and click on it. It will take you to the parts for sale forum.
