bedside replacement question.
Can anyone help me out with a link to a thread that would show me how to replace a fleetside bedside?

Re: bedside replacement question.
Pretty simple, just did mine.
#1. Reomve bolts from front of head board. 5 or 6. The top 2 are threaded into the head board, rest are 1/2" heads with nut and bolt. #2. Remove carrige bolts along that side from headboard to the wheel well. I find breaking the bolts off works better than trying to remove them. I just get underneath with a impact and sanp them off an then go back with a hammer and punch and knock the rest out. #3. remove the bolts from the wheel well to the bed side. I think there is 6. These are threaded so dont snap these. #4. Now remove the carrige bolts from the back of the wheel well back to the last stake pocket. This leaves the wheel well on the bed. #5. Get under neath and there is 4 bolts 2 with nuts and bolts, 2 that are threaded under the back stake pocket. Take those out #6. Two small welds, one in by the tailgate lower hinge and one on top of the bed floor where it meets the bed side. Cut/grind whatever these #7 Take of the support rod underneath #8, thats it! I just did this last night, not really a big deal |

Re: bedside replacement question.
Before you weld it back on,put on your tailgate and set your gaps making sure they look right before welding...
