Kick Panel Vents - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have a '79 that was originally a/c equipped. Got rid of the a/c years ago. I'm wanting to put the kick panel vents (already have 'em) in, but noticed that the drivers side dosen't even have the cutout for one. Has anyone ever cut a hole there to put the vent in??

mine had them already, so i cant help you. My suggestion would be to find someone in your area who doesn't mind you looking at theirs.

You shouldn't run into problems cutting holes down there, I wouldn't think. Just make sure you measure twice and cut once.

IMO, it will be a PITA to get the hole cut, and properly...a very hard area to even reach into, let alone cut an irregular shaped hole and try to bolt a piece of plactic to its perimeter.

I need to do the same thing this summer when I swap cabs.
All I was planning to do was trace the old cab and transfer and cut on the new one. FYI with a stripped cab it looks like a PITA job. Still I'm curious if anyone else has done it and has some pointers
