body lift
My buddy has an 84 c20 2wd. He has 33s on it and they barely fitand would like some more clearance. Would I run into any problems doing a 1 inch body lift with a hockey puck on every mount? I know its been done before but what all else has to be changed? All longer bolts id imagine, gas giller neck, what about the fan shroud and the shift linkage? Itsits got a turbo 400.any other thoughts would be great thanks

1" is no big deal. When I did my Blazer, the only thing I had to change was lengthen the clutch rod. I wouldn't use hockey pucks though. ORD makes a 1" lift that is purpose built.

The truck is a beater and he already has the hockey pucks. So there's nothing ill have to modify then?

You should have enough on the trans linkage to just be able to loosen the adjusting bolt and re-tighten it after it is lifted. Probably only have to do the same with the fuel filler neck. If you have more than one inch clearance on the fan and shroud, you should be okay. If not, you may have to cut the shroud a bit. One inch is not much. The bumpers will sit lower of course, and if that bothers him, you can fab some brackets, but one inch should not look too weird.

we got the bumpers figured out were going to extend the front about 3/8 of an inch so when the body goes up an inch that metal piece behind the bumper will be flush with the top of the bumper.. might look funny but whatever.. and the back bumper will stay how it is. if we dont like how the bumpers look, were more then capable of making brackets.
where did you guys get your bolts? forthe bed did you just use longer boltscrom the hardware or what? or will they be long enough? and what about the cab and front clip bolts? thanks again guys

on my 3" body lift i took the old bolts,one of each size and went to the hardware store and got new bolts exactly 3" longer then the existing ones,with washers n such.
