2 Paint TH350 Or Not ? ? ?
Need opinions.. Please?
If you were building a "Show Quality" Rodstoration, how would you finish the TH350 (Or 700R4) transmission? Would you just have it bead blasted and then leave it with that natural aluminum look? (Would you have to clear coat to keep it looking good) Or would you bead blast it then paint it? What Color? Or do somthing else I didn't think of? Ideas? I probably won't powder coat. It's just an average Tranny.... Thanks! Darren

I painted mine silver, heat resistant paint. I bought it from a guy that had it in a show car, and it was painted the same color of the car. I had seen them painted the same color of the engine.
Well, I guess I wasn't too much help huh? Sam

If your tranny will be clean enough, go with gloss black. I don't know why but I really like the look of the black TCI trannies.

Somethin about a clean stock tranny, i like the bare casting. I cleaned mine with some solvent, and as long as you keep the oil off of it, it'll stay lookin like that.

If you decide to polish it or go with the natural look,I would suggest spraying it with some clearcoat. That should make it easier to keep clean.
