Replacing three hole cluster in 72 GMC when putting back to geather noticed a brown wire coming from steering column. has a white twist bulb holder with a 161 bulb . wire is approx 10" long .Can some one tell me were this goes ?

It plugs into the back of the cluster in one of the bulb holes. It is for the shift indicator fiber optic light I believe.
