94 K1500 ExtCab wearing pitarm

Hi, I'm new here.

I have a 94 Silverado K1500 Stock Suspension 3" Body Lift 33x12.50 tires.

About every 6 months it wears out the pitman arm and I get that horrible wobbling at about 40 mph.

I've heard that this is common for stock vehicles with oversized tires and that there are some modifications that can be done to prevent this, however I can't seem to find any information on this. Is anyone familar with the problem I'm describing and maybe know what I can do about it?

Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

JO

arms

This is common. The idler arm usually goes first. They make a light duty and a heavy duty version. Get the heavy duty one. Also, when it does start to have wear in it, unbolt it and then rotate the arm 180 degrees and bolt it back up. This way it will wear on the opposite side. It will buy you some more time before replacing.
