My new bucket seats with mounting questions
It took a lot of doing but my seats are done. They are not correct but the material is correct for bench but due to the heat in Las Vegas I wanted a cloth seat. The foam is 71-72. They will be installed in 1970 GMC. When SMS filled my order for material it was filled with pieces that totaled much more than amount ordered, I have enough material left to do another seat so I may do the bench that is stock too and just have to get more welt. The guy that did the upholstry did a heck of a job.
If I maintain the same spacing from the door to the seat will the spacing be correct for the console and passenger seat. |

Re: My new bucket seats with mounting questions
I believe if you have the correct brackets, you will use the outer holes from your bench seat. There is also a brace for a bucket seat cab, but most people don't use it.
Seats look nice by the way! Eric

That looks good and I like the idea of the cloth in the middle. My truck will mainly be driven in the summer so I might do something like what you did.

Re: My new bucket seats with mounting questions
for the inside holes i've always made up a backer strip of 3/16 by 2" wide strip of metal to mount under the cab floor to prevent those bolts from pullin thru the floor

Re: My new bucket seats with mounting questions
To take care of winter driving when I go fishing in Southern Utah I had seat heaters put in. Allweather seats and the color match is perfect.
Thanks Mike |

Re: My new bucket seats with mounting questions
Those look sweet!!! Nice stock look. As far as mounting goes, I think the only mounting spot you use from the bench seat holes is the passenger side outer front.
If you don't have in your carpet yet, there should be 4 dimples in the cab floor where the console mounts. They are sometimes difficult to see but I have seen them on most cabs. If you get the console in the correct spot it will help you center the buckets better.
