Finally home from deep south texas. Heres some pics . Does anyone know what size blower this is and what spark plugs it calls for with a b and m 144 i assume see if you can tell by the pic underhood.

Did you answer your own question??? It's either a B&M 144, a Weiand/Holley 144, an early magnusson or a whipple. The front cover( B&M, Weiand) or snout (magnusson) usually shows a brand mark. If there's no mark it's probably a Whipple

No, I know its a b and m from the huge logo on the front. What i dont know is what size it is for sure. hence the question "does anyone know what size the blower is?"

if its a 144 do you know waht plugs to run with it?

Very nice truck. I'm not sure if they made any other one smaller or bigger that is like that. So I'd guess it's a 144.

Sure looks like a 144, if its runs ok then pull one of the plugs and change with what's already in it ( Brand and numbers are on the plug).

it sounds like its detonating a little bit so i pulled them but the p/o had 2 makes of plug in it. i wanted to see if anyone had a comparable setup.

Do you have taper seat plugs? I ran R44T in my old motor that had a weiand 142. You might want to look at what you have for total timing, You might need to pull a little advance out of it to keep it from detonating. NGK TR6's is a better choice if you ask me, I switched to NGK's and I seem to get better throttle response. I run a gasket seat plug with my AFR heads now and An even colder plug with E85 but TR6 or R44t should work for you. Great looking truck by the way I love the stance and the color.

its got stock heads as far as i know without taking anything off. crower cam for 4-8psi blower flat top pistons holley 750 mallory ignition . ill get better pics soon as i get it back from my friends shop. it started to overheat coming home from where the trailer stays and started detonating, never at idle or partial throttle. only hwy rpms or under a fair amount of load dont know what to try next other than check its not wrist pin slop or head gasket issues.

Try some TR6's and check the timing. See were the total timing is at. If you not running any boost controller I don't know what to tell you. I would figure out what the total timing is and pull out enough timing under boost to start around 26-27 degrees and work you way up from there. Sounds a little low I know but it's better to be safe and work your way up with To much advanced will cause it to run a little hot and can kill your motor.

im going to pick the truck up from the shop its at either today or tomorrow. he hasnt swapped the plugs yet after a week so im going to put the correct temp. in and go from there. i havent ever gotten into timing any pointers?
