Front Brake Hose Attachment
I just changed all the brake lines and hoses on my 1973 K20. I removed the old hoses a few months ago and I'm a little confused at something. My memory is fading at my old age.
On the front brake hoses, they go through the frame from the outside and a nut threads through the inside of the frame to attach them to the frame. When I removed the old ones, I could have sworn they also had a lock clip like this underneath the nut between the nut and the frame: Am I mistaken? Does this clip only hold the rear brake line? Are the front brake lines only held on with nuts? Thanks.

Re: Front Brake Hose Attachment
Depends how the hoses are set up. My front hoses have the sheetmetal "nut" only.
My front hoses also go through the frame, not to an attached clip. Maybe you had both because PO needed a washer to "cure" a hogged out hole?

Re: Front Brake Hose Attachment
Thanks for the replies, guys.
The extended brake line kit I got came from Offroad Design with only one clip and 2 nuts, and I figured they may have just forgotten to put an extra clip in. I went out and bought a couple of clips and installed them along with the nuts but then I got to thinking I didn't need them. That one clip should have been for the rear hose only. donut, we have the same year model trucks so I'm going to assume they should go in the same way your's do. The holes in the frame on mine look good, I think they are the original hoses. Thanks, again.
