Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
Well, I suppose it's time to throw a thread in here, been a while since I've been on this forum.
Here's my 67 C20. Currently has a 250 CID I6 and a 4 speed Manual. Only other option is the Deluxe Heater and the front sway bar, lol. We bought it April 2009 at an auction for $1200, and it still has the original warranty booklet, protect-o-plate, owners manual and the build sheet. Pictures of the day we got it, sideboards and all, lol: It was still rolling on the stock 17.5" wheels and bald front tires, and rear tires that had a good bit of tread, but were still probably 15 years old. The brakes had been degrading for 2 years, barely worked at all. Over spring break I did the front brakes, turned the drums, new wheel cyls, shoes, soft lines and bled the brakes. Still almost no pedal, which I'm thinking is the Master Cyl. Yesterday we finally got some new wheels and tires on it. Cragar Soft 8 16x8 chromies with 265/75R16 Firestone Transforce tires. Today I washed and waxed it, and cleaned the interior and got rid of the crappy cloth seat-cover. Pics I took this evening: Next thing is fix the brakes, then I'm going to upgrade to LED Taillights and Halogen headlamps for safety. This winter I plan on swapping in a 350 Crate motor with a little hotter cam to replace the leaking 250. Eventually we'll replace the slight rust it has and get some fresh paint (Stock Colors of course!). I'll post more as I go!

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
Thanks guys. I didn't even price out 17.5" tires, I knew we were going 16's. Pretty sure the rims are riveted together, and that's not exactly safe either. Not split rims, but still.
It's more of a blue green, but thanks. I agree it's a great color for the truck.

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
oh my driver fender for my 67 was originally that color but some IDIOT painted a nasty apricot tan color over it and you could see in some spots the beautiful "blue green" as you say, it doesnt matter to much because im going to repaint my truck anyways etc etc blah blah blah lol. back to the subject your truck, split rims? wow thats bad ya now i can see why you ditched them! did you like the hubcaps and steel rim look?

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
They weren't split rims, but the centers are riveted to the outer ring. Still not very safe.
I didn't mind the look, but I love how this wheel/tire package looks.

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
Replaced the Master Cylinder today and I now have good brakes for the first time since owning this truck. I love it when a plan comes together!
I'll grab some pics in a bit.

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
Small Bump. Haven't had too much time to work on it, but the brakes work great now, and a Fel-Pro engine gasket set came in today, so I'm excited about that. Gonna stop all those pesky leaks!

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
Cool machine you have there, 20s are beefy. Nice that you got it with its original documents, too. I like your approach so I'll be checking in to see what you are up to.
Regards, Jim

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
Thanks guys.
My plan is the 350 CID 290HP longblock crate. With an intake, upgraded cam, intake and a truck avenger carb, it will be a nice upgrade, somewhere around 325 HP.

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
Small update. Removed the side-covers and replaced those gaskets, which involved removing the dizzy, so I cleaned everything and put in the new points and condenser I had, and she's running like a top, except that the fuel pump is gushing out fuel as fast as the engine can suck it in, LOL. I'll get a new one of those in tomorrow, it's about a 20 minute job. Gonna tackle the oil pan gasket eventually, haha.

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
Sorry I ignored this post, been super busy.
bollybib, the current plan is to keep the six for now. It just runs too damn good to let sit around. If I don't like the mods I'm planning (cam, header, intake) I can always set it in storage and throw in a 350 or whatever. Haven't done much, replaced the water pump and fuel pump, as both were leaking, and now she's running really good, except I was dumb and stuck in a Quadrajet brass fuel filter because it fit and now it doesn't idle worth crap, lol. I'll pull that out and add a filter before the pump and call it good. Definitely gonna go with a metal cased one, I've heard horror stories about the glass/metal and plastic ones failing and causing fires.

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
Ed, I like that low shot of your truck in front of the silo. Good choice of wheels too! But something really bothers me....I picked a truck for the manifolds.....same color combo, c20, 292.....and I got one hubcap. Feel bad for what I left behind. But yours is great the way it is...keep workin the 6.

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
WOW! Now I know what I wished mine looked like. Looks to be almost exact inside and out. Does the inside of your truck look to have been painted that silver after the rest of the truck was done? I have the silver in some spots worn through and the green showing beneath, even on the steering wheel.

Re: Project: 67 C20 Farm Truck
Sorry I never saw this till now: No, my interior appears to have always been that silver/pewter. Hence the seat cover. If you look at the wheel, you can see the black plastic showing through.
No plans to sell the hubcaps, I'd like to keep the original parts around just in case.
