Crooked Steering Wheel Now Straight???
Hi Guys,
When I bought my truck I noticed that the steering wheel was not straight when the wheels were centered (pointing forward). I'm not sure if I'm imagining this, but it seems to be straighter now than it was. It's got me worried that something is slipping within the steering box or steering linkage?? Anyone ever had this problem? I want to make sure it's safe to drive. |

Check the mounting bolts on the steering box.

Re: Crooked Steering Wheel Now Straight???
I'd have a front end alignment done just to make sure. Also check the air on the front tires to make sure they're the same.
Another thing may be tire wear. Could be possible you have a tire that has a slipped belt and it may be pulling slightly to one side. Maybe swap with rear tires to see if it goes back to the way it was. If all of that checks out... You're in luck! Got a self healing truck. |

Re: Crooked Steering Wheel Now Straight???
Thank you for the replies! I'll check the mounting bolts and the tires and alignment. I don't want to worry about nothing but I want to be safe.
Thanks again. |
