Brake drums and E-brake cables
I am working on a 72 Chevy 1/2 ton 2 wheel drive 5-bolt pattern with a buddy of mine and I was wondering if the rear drums would interchange off of a later year truck such as the 73-85 style trucks also if the E-brake cables were the same length on the 73-85 chevy trucks. Any information on this would be appreciated.
Thank you Cameron |

Yes, the drum will change out. as long as your going with two inch shoes to two inch drums. I just did a brake job on my 72 and I put the 2 3/4" brake shoes on the rear, my son has a 87 truck, and my old drums fit his truck. Now I am not sure about the E brake cable, you will have to measure it to see if it is the same lenght. My guess is that it will fit, might have to adjust the cable once your done though.
