Question Any GMC Suburban production info?

I have been wondering for a little while about the uniqueness of my Burb. It is a 61 by VIN & Title. But it has the later hood with the 60-61 "stub nose" hood bird; Custom trim; and factory black paint. Was this likely just one of the last 61 GMC Burbs built, thus the mix of 62+ parts on it? Does anyone have specific GMC Suburban production numbers for 1961?

Re: Any GMC Suburban production info?

There isn't any specific info that I have found. Jolly's website is the best so far for GMC specific stuff, but it mostly revolves around the engine.

I would take a guess and say that the original hood was the '61 hood and somewhere in the mid 60's they dented it and had it replaced at the dealer with the later hood, but kept the ornament. I've also head stories that some owners had the later hood put on by the dealer to make the truck look newer. I don't know how much truth there is to that though.
