Re: what were the rare options?
Well i found out with my 66 that it has a 327 which is the only year they offered the 327 in these body style of trucks. But BBW, power steering, custom cab, A/C etc. Stuff like that. THats all I can think of at the moment

all 66's also had 2 speed wipers and seat belts. Quote:
bbw was a relatively rare option on all 60-66's, no one knows for sure , but maybe 15 to 30 percent of 60-66's were bbw. stuff that was available, but not common.... custom cab trim, full foam seat, spotlight, tow hooks, sway bar, radio, rh sunvisor, inside rear view mirror, arm rest(s), positraction rear. I have a picture of one 64-66 with a rh mount stepside spare tire. my 64 came with cab lights from the factory.- kind of an odd option for a 1/2 ton.

Re: what were the rare options?
most of the options for these trucks were rare then and are extremely rare now.most buyers bought these trucks for work and very few were loaded up back then.tachometer, shoulder harness seat belts, dash mounted clock, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, tinted glass, spot lamp, bumper guards, grill guard, overdrive transmission, side steps for fleetsides, red upholstery trim, custom comfort package, laminated door glass, front sway bar are all that comes to mind right now off the top of my head.i'm sure there are a few others that i have forgotten about.some of these options were factory installed and some were dealer add ons.

Re: what were the rare options?
Here is a day night mirror I got out of a 64 BBW. I know it is original to the truck, I still have the cab. For sale, by the way. This is the only one I have seen. I look closely at these trucks all the time, and look at what equipment they have. Most are plain Jane, and beat up. Up here, I have only seen one factory A/C, and it was a suburban from Texas that was brought up here. I have only seen 2 automatic trucks with the powerglide and 2 speed column. I bought the one, it was rough, and got the following parts out of it. Steering column, shifter linkages, kickdown linkage that bolts to the back of the trans, driveshaft correct length and yoke, the tranny, correct crossmember, rad with the cooling lines for the automatic. I pretty much stripped it clean. Most of these trucks had no options at all, even dual sunvisors and armrests were an option. Most were bought for work, not to take to town on Saturday night.

Re: what were the rare options?
I missed out on a factory stepside tire tire lock a while ago. Guy at the junkyard squashed it before I could get it. Wanted it for my 57, but it was on a 63......

Re: what were the rare options?
I looked at this truck a couple years ago, it had a red and white bench seat that looked factory, red vinyl over a red/black cloth with a white strip at the upper back. I may have pictures of the seat but they arent on this computer.

Re: what were the rare options?
IIRC, the red seat trim was for Custom Comfort cabs w/red or white or black exterior paint.

Re: what were the rare options?
the following thread was posted just a few days ago, it's worth checking out. Included is the red seat trim option.
