Sounds more like $500 to me. If that. 1/2 ton shortbed? All that work lowers the value if it's not an actual finished product, and being a half-ton lowers the value period, lol.

I disagree.... if you are wanting a work truck yeah, but a lowered crew cab short bed doesnt need to be anything more then 1/2 ton.

It may not lower the desirability, but it does lower what it's actually worth.

I could part that truck out for twice the money. It's a deal.

No doubt, double it twice would be my guess.

Re: Lowered Crewcab 1/2 ton short bed 850 bucks

This section of the forum is full of guys building 1/2 ton crew cabs so there's no shortage of interest in them. The Craigslist truck is already lowered with spindles and has some good sheetmetal on it.

I've walked every single swap meet for the last year with 500 bucks in my pocket looking for a nice 73-80 driver side fender and still haven't found one yet. These old trucks are getting more rare every day.

And last, I'll leave y'all with some pictures of a truck my buddy built a few years ago.

man that would be a cool project, and I agree its a good deal . Value doesnt just depend on hiw much you can haul with it , but also rarity, potential and finally what someone will pay to have someone else do the work (like shorting a frame for a short bed) plus that truck is alreay lowered ..... its a steal

It was up a couple of weeks ago for $1350 OBO. I wish I had somewhere to hide it.

Re: Lowered Crewcab 1/2 ton short bed 850 bucks

I feel it is a VERY good price. I did all of the work shortening mine and switching it to a half ton. I know how much work is involved in doing this! I don't understand how it would lower the value. From what I have seen 1/2 chevy trucks almost always bring more than 3/4 ton/1 tons with the exception of some dually 4x4s.
