Re: Radiator help

My 68 had one from a later model truck. they used the top panel from the donor truck instead of the 68 radiator hold downs. wasn't quite right, but it was a radiator.

Re: Radiator help

the 73 - 87 trucks had a short rad or a tall one, the core its self was taller on some. If the one you are looking at is the same core height as the one you need, then you're in the door. You'll then need to cut the upturned lower hose neck off the old rad and have it put on the replacement rad (go to a radiator shop for this, won't cost much) and then it'll drop right in. If you have an automatic, the lines won't reach properly, I can't remember if you can make them fit or if you'll need to make extentions.

What he said, but I think you can also use the lower radiator hose from the donor truck application.

Re: Radiator help

I've heard of that being done, but i don't see how. The frame curves up just aft of the rad, a straight neck would put the hose on the frame.
