Re: differences between 48 and 52
The only real difference is where the door latches mount. The 52 latches will not work on the 48 one and the 48 will not work on the 52.

Re: differences between 48 and 52
There are several other differences.
The 48 has a 3 point cab mounting system where the 52 has four. The 48 cab also has a reinforcement panel around the inside of the back panel and a gas tank won't fit in there without issues. The 48 has a side cowl vent on the drivers side and the 52 doesn't That and the vent window deal are probably the two most visible things. Also the way the door windlace is held in by a metal strip in the 48 and is fabric around a rubber core while the 52 windlace fits in a channel around the doors and is rubber. And the door latch and door handle thing with the doors. I have swapped a pushbutton door onto a 48 cab without issues though. Did that on my grandfathers one ton when he rolled it when I was 14 or 15. This has useful info and is well worth saving http://www.adchevy.com/info/yeartoyearchanges/ That is the same info that is on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Advance_Design There is more and similar info here http://www.antiquechevytrucks.com/Co...esign_main.htm Last edited by mr48chev; 07-14-2011 at 10:50 AM. |
