700R4 Lock Up Wiring Question
Please forgive my lack of knowledge in this area. I recently mounterd a 700R4on my 350 and have been reading up on how to wire the torque converter to lock up. It doesn't sound that bad, I am looking to use a push-button switch with an LED inside that lights up when its pressed on. (Push on, push off). Anyway, I have heard of people doing this with toggle switched as well. I was told that you just make sure you have power to the switch then to the tranny electrical plug on the side and then ground from there. Does anybody have a more specific steps list by chance?
I am looking to just lock it up manually when on the interstate for better milage. |

Re: 700R4 Lock Up Wiring Question
If you didn't find it in the search you really want a kit with a brake switch installed. I got mine from Bowtieoverdrives.com
http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/cata...php?ITEMID=332 My TC was locked up when some dumb ass pulled out in front of me many years ago and when I hit the brakes the truck died on me and I had no power to anything. Luckily the dumb ass floored it and I missed him. I didn't know at the time how important that was... so when I burned up that 700R (improper TV cable set up) I orded the TC lock up/brake swith kit and TV made EZ kit from bowtie overdrives and I have over 15,000 miles on the new trans.
